What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial Staff – Seasonal (Summer 2026) position at Sitka Fine Arts Camp?
Sitka Fine Arts Camp’s (SFAC’s) custodian maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors to the Sitka Fine Arts Campus, ensuring all areas are safe.
Essential Duties:
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.
- Cleans, mops, washes, buffs and vacuums floors.
- Empties trash.
- Maintains outside walk areas, including sweeping debris and washing walkways.
- Cleans and polishes fixtures.
- Removes recycling materials.
- Cleans windows.
- Dusts and vacuums furniture.
- Laundry.
- Housekeeping in rooms (making beds, cleaning, taking out trash, etc).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability and willingness to provide courteous service to all campus users
- Experience in custodial work
Required Competencies:
- Thoroughness
- Good time management

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 70 pounds.
