The HR & Culture Coordinator plays a key role in creating exceptional employee experience while supporting the daily operations of the Culture & Team (CAT) Department. This position serves as a partner to the Director of Human Resources in building a positive workplace culture, attracting top talent, coordinating onboarding and training initiatives, and supporting employee engagement programs. The HR & Culture Coordinator will receive hands-on exposure to all aspects of the HR function while helping build a strong organizational culture and supporting the successful operation of a newly renovated lifestyle hotel.
Essential Functions
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate job postings and recruiting activities.
- Assist with job fairs, hiring events, and community recruitment efforts.
- Screen applications and conduct initial candidate outreach.
- Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications.
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation.
- Maintain applicant tracking and recruiting reports.
- Assist in building talent pipelines and community partnerships.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
- Prepare welcome materials and onboarding packets.
- Ensure completion of all required employment documentation.
- Assist new team members with onboarding questions and resources.
- Coordinate uniforms, name tags, and employee resources.
- Conduct onboarding follow-up and new hire check-ins.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Coordinate monthly employee rallies and appreciation events.
- Assist with community outreach and volunteer activities.
- Maintain recognition boards and communication materials.
- Track employee milestones, anniversaries, and celebrations.
- Support employee surveys, stay interviews, and engagement efforts.
Training & Development Support
- Maintain training records and certification files.
- Track training completion and attendance.
- Assist with leadership development and training initiatives.
- Coordinate training schedules and materials.
- Support departmental training audits and compliance efforts.
Human Resources Administration
- Maintain personnel files and employee records.
- Assist with HR compliance audits and record retention.
- Process employment verifications and routine HR requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Assist with HR reporting and administrative projects.
- Support Paycom administration and employee record maintenance.
Employee Relations Support
- Serve as a welcoming and approachable resource for team members.
- Assist with employee communication initiatives.
- Support the preparation of HR documentation and employee acknowledgments.
- Participate in HR meetings and departmental projects.
- Maintain professional and confidential handling of sensitive information.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience
- One to three years of hospitality, recruiting, human resources, employee relations, or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems is preferred.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating projects, events, or employee engagement activities preferred.
