The Nursery Procurement Manager is responsible for managing branch and supplier relationships and ensuring proper fulfillment of nursery products across SiteOne via our Blue Yonder Nursery system and process.
Occasional travel to the mid-west required for this position.

Position Overview
The Nursery Procurement Manager is responsible for managing branch and supplier relationships and ensuring proper fulfillment of nursery products across SiteOne via our Blue Yonder Nursery system and process.

What You’ll Do
- Communicate and assist in implementation of the strategic plan to grow profit and margin in the nursery product line.
- Exceed customer expectations for product breadth, quality, availability, and timely/accurate order fulfillment via our Blue Yonder Nursery system and process
- Conduct regular reviews of current bookings to flow product and provide feedback and updates to the Nursery Category team
- Assist branches in product inventory management with respect to product flow, quality, obsolescence, trends, shortages, and profitability via our Blue Yonder Nursery system and process.
- Perform regular review of branches to evaluate inventory levels, buying options, trucking options to best flow material to each location via our Blue Yonder Nursery system and process.
- Assist as needed in strengthening vendor relationships.
- Coordinate with the Nursery Category to ensure that regional strategies are in line with procurement needs.
- Execute seasonal forecast reviews, core item review, presentation quantities, max on hands with the field and communicate with the Demand Planner to implement changes
- Lead the Vendor Commitment Process in Blue Yonder
- Attend Regional / Divisional meetings and provide product line analysis and support.
- Provides a single point of contact for nursery product flow booking reviews, product shortages, and pricing analysis.
- Teach, coach and support Vendor direct programs and challenge the team to support the process with respect to vendor and logistical support.
- Teach, coach, and train Nursery Purchasing Agents on Blue Yonder system and process
- Work with the Nursery Category team on timely draw down of vendor commitments, and communicate potential over and under pull of product
- Communicate regularly with Demand Planner and the Nursery Category team on data accuracies including booking units and quantities, correct SOQs, and any data points that impact fulfillment.
- Communicate and coach the nursery branch associates on basic Blue Yonder system and process to gain buy in and acceptance with nursery branches.
- Understanding of purchasing and inventory management philosophies.
- Must possess strong analytical skills and excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in Blue Yonder fulfillment system and process
- Strong computer Skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Degree in a business/management discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four to seven years industry experience.
- Extensive knowledge of industry practices and products.
- Possess outstanding skill in managing product inventory.
- General understanding of accounting fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
