The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of live, virtual, and hybrid events. This role requires a detail-oriented leader who can manage budgets, schedules, crews, vendors, and on-site operations while ensuring creative and technical visions are delivered seamlessly. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, communicates effectively across teams, and has a deep understanding of event production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Manage and maintain project scope, task timeline, operating budget, required staff/resources, and overall quality of the resulting deliverables.
- Accountable for the quality and financial success of all project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers, creative leads, and clients to align on project scope and requirements.
- Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of museum and trade show exhibits, overseeing technical production, multimedia content integration, cross-functional coordination, vendor management, installation, and on-site execution to ensure high-quality visitor and attendee experiences.
Vendor & Crew Coordination:
- Source, hire, and manage technical vendors, labor crews, and production staff.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with labor regulations (including IATSE and other unions where applicable).
- Source, establish, develop, and actively manage relationships with key vendors, providing the best available resources within budget and overall project success.
On-Site Management:
- Lead on-site production operations, including load-in, rehearsals, show calls, and load-out.
- Troubleshoot technical and logistical issues in real-time.
Technical Oversight:
- Work closely with technical directors, broadcast engineers, and scenic teams to ensure flawless execution.
- Review and approve CAD drawings, production schematics, and show documentation.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Track production costs, manage vendor invoices, and ensure projects remain on budget.
- Provide cost-saving recommendations without compromising quality.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire marshal, venue, and local safety regulations.
- Manage risk assessments and contingency planning.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the central hub of communication between internal teams, clients, vendors, and talent.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in event production, preferably in live events, trade shows, esports, or broadcast environments.
- Strong knowledge of technical production (audio, video, lighting, scenic, staging).
- Experience managing union and non-union crews.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet) and familiarity with CAD drawings.
- Strong project management skills, including budget management, timelines, and project plans.
- Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in event management software, MS Office, and Google Suite
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to travel frequently and work long, irregular hours as required by event schedules.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in large-scale productions such as conventions, corporate events, or sports/esports tournaments.
- Familiarity with broadcast production workflows.
- Budget forecasting and financial management expertise.
- Strong vendor network and established industry relationships.
- AutoCAD proficiency.

Base Pay Range: $95,600 - $130,500
