Position Overview
SITEC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support enterprise IT architecture, requirements management, and technology governance activities for a mission-focused customer environment.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer who can work directly with technical leadership, Government stakeholders, requestors, architects, and approval boards to help evaluate, validate, and mature enterprise technology requests. The selected candidate will support the review and refinement of requirements, assist with technical documentation, and help guide requests through architecture and technology approval processes.
The successful candidate will bring strong systems engineering discipline, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate user needs into clear, measurable, testable, and verifiable requirements. This position also offers the opportunity to help improve current processes for speed, scalability, and future integration with tools such as ServiceNow.
What You'll Support
In this role, the Senior Systems Engineer will support a senior technical director and assist with enterprise-level technology and architecture processes. Responsibilities may include:
- Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures.
- Develop and refine system requirements specifications.
- Lead requirements analysis, design review, and development planning activities.
- Guide users and stakeholders in formulating clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Advise on alternative technical approaches and conduct feasibility assessments.
- Support system-of-systems requirements management.
- Review requirements for duplication, clarity, measurability, testability, and verifiability.
- Support the integration of requirements, design, architecture, and technology considerations.
- Assist with incorporating new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture documentation, and system design materials.
- Support the preparation of systems engineering management plans, integration plans, and test planning documentation.
- Prepare and validate technology requests by working directly with requestors and stakeholders.
- Present or support presentation of requests at Technology and Architecture Council meetings for technical director and architect approval.
- Coordinate with Government stakeholders regarding technical considerations, issues, risks, conflicts, and approval status.
- Communicate effectively with program personnel, Government overseers, architects, technical directors, and senior executives.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and prepare for future ServiceNow-enabled workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph required.
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline is desired.
- Fourteen years of relevant experience with a high school diploma; or
- Nineteen years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree.
- Strong experience with systems engineering, requirements analysis, and technical documentation.
- Experience managing system-of-systems requirements.
- Ability to define, deduplicate, validate, and review requirements for measurable, testable, and verifiable capability.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and comfort working with senior Government and technical leadership.
Preferred Experience
- Security certification.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT hardware environments.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community enterprise architecture processes and technical governance.
- Familiarity with architecture and policy-driven approval workflows.
- Experience supporting technology review boards, architecture councils, or similar governance bodies.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow or ServiceNow capabilities.
- Experience improving business or technical processes for speed, scale, automation, and repeatability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior systems engineer who is comfortable operating at the intersection of requirements, architecture, process improvement, and stakeholder coordination.
You should be able to take a request that may be incomplete or unclear, work with the requestor to validate the need, refine the requirement, assess technical considerations, and help move the request through the appropriate approval process. This role requires technical maturity, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to keep multiple stakeholders aligned.
