Location: Phoenix, AZ

Employment Type: 8-12 weeks, possible conversion to direct hire

Pay Rate: Open rate (depends on experience)

SiteWorker is sourcing an experienced Fire Alarm Installer for an 8–12 week commercial installation project in Mesa, Arizona. This is hands-on rough-in and device installation work on an active jobsite — candidates should be comfortable working independently, reading basic plans, and coordinating with the site superintendent and other trades.

Scope of Work

  • Pull and route low-voltage fire alarm wire throughout the building per plan set
  • Mount and secure junction boxes at designated device and connection points
  • Cut in and install additional electrical boxes as needed for device relocations
  • Mount and rough-in the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP)
  • Terminate wiring at devices, panels, and junction points per manufacturer and code requirements
  • Maintain clean, code-compliant workmanship consistent with NFPA 72 standards
  • Coordinate daily with the site super and other trades to keep the schedule on track

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hands-on fire alarm installation experience
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 fire alarm system requirements
  • Experience pulling wire, mounting junction/cut-in boxes, and installing FACPs
  • Ability to read and work from basic low-voltage/electrical plan sets
  • Own hand tools; reliable transportation to jobsite
  • Must speak English and demonstrate excellent spoken and written communication — this role requires clear daily coordination with site leadership
  • Comfortable passing a background check and drug screen as required by the general contractor

Certifications & Licensing (Arizona)
Arizona does not require individual installers to hold a personal state license to perform fire alarm work under a licensed contractor. The following credentials are strongly preferred and will be prioritized:

  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification (Level I or II preferred) — not state-mandated for installers, but the industry standard and commonly requested on commercial jobs
  • Arizona Board of Technical Registration (BTR) alarm agent registration, if performing work independent of a licensed alarm business
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card
  • Ability to work under a contractor holding an active Arizona ROC license (C-16 Fire Protection or C-67 Low Voltage) — SiteWorker will confirm licensing coverage for this project

Note: Individuals do not need to hold the ROC license themselves — this project operates under the general/prime contractor's existing Arizona license. NICET certification is not legally required to install fire alarm systems in Arizona but is preferred by AHJs and speeds plan approval; candidates actively pursuing NICET Level I/II are welcome to apply.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Competitive hourly contract rate, based on experience — paid weekly
  • Per diem provided for candidates traveling from outside the Mesa/Phoenix metro area
  • 8–12 week initial contract with strong potential for extension or follow-on projects for top performers
  • Local candidates strongly preferred; out-of-area candidates will be considered for the right skill set

Salary : $100
