Job Overview: Our client is seeking to hire a board-certified MD or DO who has completed an Internal, Emergency, or General Medicine residency in the United States to join their team as principal investigator (“PI”) in clinical research at an independent research location in Monroe, Louisiana. The research site administers a wide variety of Phase 2/3/4 drug research trials across multiple Therapeutic Areas. Prior research experience as a PI, Sub-I, or Co-Investigator is required for this role.
This is a full-time, in-person role. There are no planned overnight or weekend hours.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and oversight of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with study protocols, FDA, IRB, and Sponsor requirements
- Screen and evaluate study participants, reviewing eligibility and ratings to ensure data integrity
- Maintain required licensure, credentials, and study documentation throughout each trial
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of safety events, noncompliance, and trial-specific updates
- Collaborate with research and operations teams to meet site performance goals
- Represent the site at Investigator Meetings, trainings, and educational seminars
- Travel to Investigator Meetings as needed
Requirements:
- Prior clinical research experience is required for this role
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine, General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or another generalist specialty
- Valid license to practice medicine in Louisiana (or license-eligible)
- A command of professional spoken and written English
