Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that heavy machinery, trucks, and industrial equipment operate efficiently and safely, supporting our operational goals. Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and preventive inspections to maximize equipment uptime.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
- Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm machinery or industrial equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery during repairs or testing phases to ensure proper functioning after maintenance or repair work.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and mechanical components effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and automotive diagnostics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, assembly, and modifications using power tools and hand tools.
- Experience working with OEM parts catalogs and reading schematics for precise repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
