SUMMARY:
The primary function of a lodging steward is to be present as scheduled to perform and ensure safety, customer service and security. During specific times the Steward is the property representative and single point of accountability for all property needs. The Steward position is a contract position and shares duties with another camp steward on a rotating schedule. Duties include hands-on facility and grounds maintenance, housekeeping, office help and security as outlined below. Stewards must demonstrate the following personal attributes: honesty, trustworthy, respectful, flexibility, as well as be able to work with others in a professional manner at all times and have excellent communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform daily hourly duties as scheduled by SITE, Inc.

Present and responsible to perform scheduled overnight duties to ensure the immediate response to guest and property needs.

Maintain facilities through coordination of provided resources and direct effort which may include security, grounds keeping, janitorial/housekeeping duties and minor facility repairs.

Respond proactively to guests questions and concerns.

Perform inspections of facilities, grounds and equipment to ensure visitor and employee safety, facility integrity and aesthetic appearance.

Ensure public safety through coordination of provided resources.

Recognize and respond to acts which threaten visitor and staff safety and endanger property resources as they occur.

Coordinate services of vendors and contractors to provide quality guest services.

Recommend staffing needs and special needs for events to SITE CEO.

Oversee the proper order and maintenance of operating supplies.

Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED equivalency required. Six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. On-line reservation experience and customer service experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, write, speak and understand English. Read write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills are required.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
This position requires working knowledge of: Outlook and E-mail; keyboarding, printing and general computer navigation. In addition, they must possess a willingness to be trained in the reservation system.
REASONING ABILITY:
Organizational, interpersonal relation skills and a team-oriented attitude are required. Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Drivers License is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work in outside weather conditions, including rain, cold and heat.

Work at various heights and access any reasonable portion of the property.

Stoop stand and bend.

Lift up to 75 lbs.

Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach, grip and pull.

Drive a light truck or vehicle to transport supplies and equipment, haul refuse and garbage and or miscellaneous hauling.

Operate various machinery including automobile, mower, edger and similar.

Possible exposure to chemicals and/or elements present in cleaners, agents, pesticides or other hazardous chemicals.

Flexible hours (weekends, nights, holidays).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Steward may have to manage a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of members. The Steward may find the environment to be busy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
