Medical Assistant / Receptionist - Sisu Health DPC | Richland, WA

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sisu Health DPC is looking for a Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our small, independent Direct Primary Care practice. This is a blended role that combines traditional medical assistant responsibilities with front-office and administrative work.

You’ll work closely with our Clinic Manager to support our provider as part of a small team. Utilize on-the-job training to become familiar with our EHR/EMR and communication software (Hint and Spruce Health).

As you become comfortable in the role, you’ll take on additional responsibilities and be expected to work more independently, anticipate routine needs, and help keep day-to-day clinic operations organized and on track.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Greet patients and manage check-in, check-out, and front-desk needs during clinic hours
  • Room patients, obtain and enter vital signs, and communicate patient needs to the provider
  • Schedule appointments and help coordinate follow-up care
  • Communicate with patients by phone and secure messaging
  • Send, receive, and organize medical records, faxes, and other patient documents
  • Assist with routine in-office clinical tasks, testing, specimen collection, and patient forms
  • Help patients with clinic-provided devices, e.g. Dexcom, supplies, supplements, and related instructions
  • Facilitate operations; maintain patient rooms, supplies, and inventories
  • Assist with routine prescription and refill workflows
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in clinic systems

As you become trained in our workflows, responsibilities will expand to include additional clinical and administrative support with corresponding increases in compensation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A Medical Assistant who understands the Direct Primary Care membership model and is committed to the attentive, highly personalized care and communication that patients expect from a small, relationship-centered practice
  • A healthcare professional who embodies the trust and dedication required within a tight knit team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to learn, standardize and document processes, retain information, and apply to similar situations
  • Willing to ask questions when needed, while becoming increasingly independent with familiar tasks
  • Clear, appropriate and professional written and verbal communication with a friendly and helpful approach to patient interactions

WHAT THIS ROLE IS LIKE

Sisu Health DPC is a small membership-based practice. The medical assistant’s role is vastly different from working in a large clinic where responsibilities are divided among multiple personnel and departments.

You’ll move between clinical, front-office, and administrative tasks throughout the day, and priorities may change depending on patient and provider’s needs.

You’ll receive on-the-job and software provided training as you learn the role with the goal for you to become increasingly confident and independent with routine responsibilities. We value someone who can recognize what needs attention, use good judgment, and keep things moving without needing redirection.

Because we work within an established and disciplined small team, we are looking for someone who is comfortable with variety and fits well within our tight knit team.
