What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Engineer position at Sisters of the Order of St Benedict?
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting in the operation of the physical plant and for conducting preventive and repair maintenance.
Essential Specific Job Duties:
Performs boiler and HVAC maintenance.
Assists with the safe, efficient operation and mechanical upkeep of boilers and related HVAC equipment.
Performs boiler, cooling water testing, and works with related chemicals.
Assists with fire alarm testing, sprinkler testing, emergency generator and other safety equipment.
Performs pneumatic maintenance and calibration.
Performs repairs, preventive maintenance and completes work orders as directed.
Assists with the safe efficient operation and mechanical upkeep of commercial laundry equipment, refrigeration, elevator and lift equipment, and commercial kitchen equipment.
Performs carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, heating and minor electrical.
Performs snow removal on walks, parking lots, drive ways, etc. and rotates to an early shift to ensure that areas are kept safe and free of snow and ice.
Performs equipment maintenance on bobcat, mowers, snow blowers, plows and related equipment.
Repairs other equipment, i.e. wheel chairs, rehab equipment, etc.
Additional Essential Specific Job Duties:
Rotates weekends for engineering checks.
Manages emergency on call evenings and weekends in the absence of the Buildings and Grounds Manager as directed.
Works in collaboration with other departments by supporting and promoting team effort.
Follows and supports all policies and procedures as established by the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict.
