What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Clerk PART TIME position at SISTERS OF PROVIDENCE?
SUMMARY
The Store Clerk is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and a positive shopping experiences for our customers at Linden Leaf Gifts and the White Violet Farm Store. They will interact with people, have a strong work ethic and have a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves, folding merchandise, and tidying displays.
- Answer customer inquiries about products, pricing, and store policies.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and unpacking shipments.
- Follow all store procedures and safety guidelines.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with accuracy.
- Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry moderate weight.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, and holidays (as needed).
- Reliable transportation.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Previous retail experience is a plus, but not required.

- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reach with the arms, bend, stoop, kneel, walk up and down stairs and walk for at least 800 yards.
- Ability to move and operate in narrow aisles and confined areas is essential, as is the ability to climb and work on a three-step ladder.
- Close vision and depth perception are also required. This is necessary for handling the movement of furniture/fixtures and/or the stocking of shelves, and the movement of merchandise to and from various storerooms.
- Hearing sufficient to understand customer’s questions and requests and communication skills to respond to them is also required.
