Role Overview: Patient Service Specialist
As a Patient Service Specialist, you’ll be the welcoming face of Mercy Urgent Care—providing excellent service, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and supporting patients every step of the way. From registration and insurance verification to compassionate communication, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive patient experience.
What You’ll Do:
Greet and register patients with warmth and professionalism
Verify insurance and process payments
Answer phones, route calls, and support patient inquiries
Maintain a welcoming and organized clinic environment
Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Expectations:
Minimum commitment of one 12-hour shift per month (not guaranteed)
Mandatory week of online trainings and additional week of on-the-job shadowing prior to first shift
Regular skills check and review
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years of healthcare or customer service experience
Strong computer, typing, and money-handling skills
Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
Positive, professional demeanor with compassion for all patients
