IOP Counselor
Location: Cleveland, OH 44115
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Counselor to join our team in Cleveland, OH. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality counseling services to individuals participating in our IOP, supporting their recovery and mental health goals in a flexible, as-needed capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate AOD assessment and diagnosis with supervision
- Provide support to the lead counselor, assessment department, and IOP and detoxification units when necessary
- Documents accurately and completely all care provided using appropriate records and within allotted time frame
- Maintains current state licensure/certification to function as an approved CD practitioner
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate patient and family needs and progress with other disciplines and agencies as necessary
- Possesses skills consistent with ability to perform chemical dependency assessments/intensive outpatient groups for both detoxification and outpatient clients. Completes bio-psychosocial computerized EMR assessments thoroughly and in timely manner
- Develops treatment plans with client and team that are complete, individualized and based on needs from assessment and those identified in the course of treatment
- Provides IOP individual, group counseling, crisis intervention and case management services when needed
- Matches counseling techniques to client need and readiness to change
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have one of the following licensures: CDCA, LCDCII or LCDCIII. CDCA, LCDC-II, or equivalent required, LCDC-III, BA Social Work preferred
- Three to five years’ experience with the CIAI-C or SOQIC assessment tool and a minimum of five years experience working Alcohol/Drug and Mental Health clients/patients
- Must be able to work flexible hours and holidays and/or evenings as required
- Ability to prioritize, facilitate and complete assignments in an accurate and timely fashion while maintaining strict confidentiality of clients/patients
- Minimum of three years experience in conducting assessments and group counseling skills
- Superior customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated PC skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
Pay Range: $18.00 - $29.00
