Role Description The Care Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in St Louis, MO, providing in-home support to clients in alignment with Sisters Care Home Services’ mission and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, offering companionship, and supporting clients with mobility, safety, and comfort. The Care Specialist will monitor client well-being, follow care plans, communicate observations to supervisors or family members, and coordinate with healthcare professionals as needed. Additional tasks may include light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders (as allowed by policy), and documentation of services provided. This role requires a consistent, reliable presence and a commitment to respectful, person-centered care.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust, provide clear updates, and maintain professional relationships with clients and families.
  • Foundational knowledge of medicine or healthcare practices and familiarity with critical care medicine concepts to support safe, appropriate client care in collaboration with medical professionals.
  • Customer service skills to ensure high-quality, responsive care and a positive experience for clients and their families.
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate documentation, follow care plans, and adhere to safety and confidentiality standards.
  • Previous experience in home care, caregiving, nursing assistance, or related fields is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in caregiving, CNA, or related healthcare fields is a plus.
  • Capacity to perform the physical aspects of the role, including assisting with transfers, mobility, and light housekeeping, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Reliable transportation to client homes in the St Louis, MO area and ability to work a consistent full-time schedule, including possible evenings or weekends as needed.
