Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PM / Business Analyst – Legacy to Web Application Modernization for an onsite contract in Austin, Texas. This role is 100% ONSITE, and ONLY LOCAL AUSTIN AREA CANDIDATES will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the IT Applications Director, the PM/Business Analyst (PM/BA) will support modernization initiatives by leading and executing business and technical analysis activities for the conversion of legacy applications to modern, web-based solutions. This role works closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to plan, analyze, document, and validate system requirements.
The PM/BA will leverage strong knowledge of .NET technologies and SQL-based systems to translate existing functionality into clear, actionable requirements that support web application development. Responsibilities include developing and executing requirements and analysis activities, analyzing legacy system functionality and workflows, documenting business and functional requirements, performing gap analysis, collaborating with developers and architects, supporting project planning and risk tracking, facilitating stakeholder meetings, validating implemented functionality, communicating project status and dependencies, and supporting modernization initiatives through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with limited supervision while coordinating across multiple technical and business teams in a fast-paced project environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 12 years of experience in legacy system analysis and modernization strategies
• 12 years of experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), particularly for web-based application development
• 12 years of experience gathering requirements elicitation and documentation (business, functional, and technical)
• 12 years of experience translating legacy application behavior into modern web-based system requirements
• 12 years of experience in stakeholder facilitation, communication, consensus building, project coordination, and task tracking
• 12 years of experience analyzing SQL-based data models and system integrations
• 12 years of experience reviewing system workflows and identifying modernization opportunities
• 12 years of written, verbal, and presentation communication experience
• 12 years of experience creating clear, complete, and testable requirements documentation
• 12 years of experience working effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams
• 12 years of experience identifying system and compliance gaps and proposing feasible solutions
• 12 years of experience adapting to evolving technical requirements and modernization complexities
• 12 years of experience maintaining productive working relationships in a fast-paced project environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 years of previous experience in business analysis or PM/BA roles
• 8 years of demonstrated experience converting legacy applications to web-based solutions
• 8 years of hands-on experience working with .NET development teams and SQL databases
• 8 years of experience with project management methodologies
• 4 years of previous experience supporting large-scale IT systems within government or regulated environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
• PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, or similar certification preferred
