Industrial Equipment & Structural Steel Installation

SISSCO Material Handling is seeking an experienced Field Installer with a background that combines the skills of a Millwright, Ironworker, and Industrial Equipment Installer. This position is responsible for the installation, assembly, alignment, and commissioning of overhead cranes, hoists, rail maintenance equipment, and supporting structural steel systems in industrial and commercial environments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with heavy equipment and structural steel, and the ability to safely perform complex installations while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, monorails, hoists, and rail maintenance equipment.
• Perform layout, measurement, alignment, and installation of structural steel components including columns, runways, supports, and bracing systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, erection drawings, engineering documents, and equipment specifications.
• Perform equipment assembly, mechanical installation, rigging, alignment, and final adjustments.
• Operate forklifts, telehandlers (Lulls), aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Utilize proper rigging techniques for lifting and positioning equipment and steel structures.
• Work from elevated surfaces including ladders, lifts, and structural steel.
• Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and customers to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.
• Assist with equipment testing, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain compliance with all OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Complete job documentation, field reports, and installation records.

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in industrial equipment installation, millwright work, structural steel erection, ironwork, or related fields.
• Proven experience installing overhead cranes, hoists, conveyor systems, heavy industrial machinery, or similar equipment.
• Experience laying out and installing structural steel columns, runway beams, and support structures.
• Strong working knowledge of rigging practices, load handling, and equipment positioning.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and construction documents.

• Ability to travel to customer job sites as required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Rigger certifications
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing plants, steel mills, transportation facilities, rail yards, or heavy industrial environments.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Climb ladders, work from aerial lifts, and access elevated structures.
• Stand, kneel, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
• Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required.
