Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Production Planning (PP) Lead Consultant to support and lead end-to-end solution design, configuration, integration, and deployment activities for an ongoing S/4HANA program. The ideal candidate brings strong functional expertise across PP/QM processes and has hands-on experience working with manufacturing, shop-floor operations, and quality compliance environments.
This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams and will involve onsite presence (2–3 days per week) in Corona, CA.
Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional Leadership
- Act as the primary functional lead for SAP PP & QM streams during design, build, testing, and deployment.
- Conduct Fit–Gap Analysis, drive blueprinting workshops, and document detailed functional designs.
- Lead end-to-end configuration of PP (Discrete/Process, MRP, BOM, Routing, Work Centers, Capacity Planning, Production Orders/Process Orders) and QM (Inspection Lots, QM in Procurement, QM in Production, MICs, Catalogs, Quality Notifications).
Solution Delivery
- Design and configure Master Data relevant to PP/QM: Material Master, BOM, Routing, Work Centers, QM Master Data.
- Oversee integration with MM, SD, WM/EWM, PM, FI-CO, and MES systems.
- Support testing cycles: Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, defect triage, and resolution.
- Lead Cutover, Go-Live, and Hypercare activities.
Manufacturing & Quality Expertise
- Work closely with plant teams to understand shop-floor workflows.
- Support Process Manufacturing or Discrete Manufacturing scenarios (as applicable).
- Implement QM processes for:
- Incoming inspection
- In-process inspection
- Final inspection
- Non-conformance management
- Corrective/Preventive Actions
Stakeholder & Documentation
- Prepare functional specs for RICEFW objects.
- Collaborate with ABAP, Integration, and Basis teams.
- Deliver end-user training and create training materials.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP PP and SAP QM.
- At least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations (PP/QM).
- Strong functional knowledge of:
- MRP / MRP Live
- Production Order Management
- Quality Inspection Types
- Batch Management
- Serialization (if needed)
- Experience in manufacturing industries such as consumer goods, medical devices, automotive, industrial manufacturing, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work onsite 2–3 days/week in Corona, CA.
