How you'll make an impact:

Work on the operation and quality of studio equipment during live and pre-recorded play by play events. Learn basic troubleshooting elements of studio equipment and setups. Assist on-demand/metadata team with their needs. Incumbents of this position may be assigned to more than one event and perform slightly different functions across programs.

What you'll do:

• Manage all aspects of live sports play-by-play broadcasts, ensuring consistent quality control.
• Audition and cue audio elements prior to broadcast.
• Operate commercials, promos, and other scheduled breaks according to the game format.
• Log and record game highlights using digital audio software.
• Communicate effectively with sports newsrooms, supervisors, engineers, and operations teams as needed.
• Verify audio equipment functionality before going on air, reporting technical issues promptly.
• Confirm the correct game broadcast feed is provided and ready.
• Stay up to date on players, teams, and storylines relevant to each broadcast.
• Update game scores in real time.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
  

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of experience running an audio board for a sports talk show or play-by-play broadcast.
• Strong knowledge of sports.
• Must be available for weekend and night shifts.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous use of Digital Audio Workstation software preferred.
• General knowledge related to operating studio console and sound equipment.
• Familiarity with digital audio editing software (OneCut, Audition, ProTools, etc).
• Mixing and coordinating sound elements into a professional sounding on-air product.
• Knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $20/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
