Job Details

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical expertise, deliver small capital projects, and support plant engineering efforts for a contract position in Lafayette, IN.
MUST HAVE A DEGREE IN CHEMICAL, MECHANICAL, or ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, executing technical changes, and driving continuous improvement within a cGMP chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Project & Technical Support
  • Lead and support small capital and technical change projects from design through construction, commissioning, qualification, and startup.
  • Develop project scopes, manage change controls, and prepare/execute system qualification documentation.
  • Serve as project manager or technical consultant on large customer or capital projects as needed.
  • Make informed decisions to ensure adherence to schedule, cost, quality, and operational goals.
  • Develop and maintain engineering specifications, standards, and equipment work instructions to enhance performance and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Drive investment and asset strategy for current and future business needs in assigned areas.
  • Prepare accurate and timely engineering expense reports for site and corporate requirements.
Quality & cGMP Compliance
  • Follow all written instructions and maintain strict documentation practices to ensure Safety, Identity, Strength, Purity, and Quality (SISPQ) of manufactured products.
  • Report deviations promptly, complete all required training, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Protect product security and safety by reporting risks and wearing required PPE at all times.
Environmental, Safety, Health & Security (ESHS)
  • Adhere to ESHS rules, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Report injuries, hazards, or concerns immediately to supervision.
  • Participate actively in ESHS programs and provide feedback to promote a safe work environment.
  • Take personal accountability for safe behaviors and proper task preparation.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required.
  • 3 5 years of plant engineering and project execution experience.
  • Strong knowledge of plant design, production processes, maintenance management, and engineering policies/standards.
  • Demonstrated technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive improvements and resolve complex challenges.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional groups without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
  • Experience managing project budgets of $2.5M $3M annually.
  • Background with chemical or pharmaceutical processing equipment and unit operations preferred.
