Plant Engineering & Electrics Automation Specialist

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Plant Engineering & Electrical Automation Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Blythewood, SC. This is 100% On-Site and will support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical systems for advanced automotive assembly operations.

The ideal candidate for this role is a highly collaborative electrical engineering professional with deep experience supporting automotive assembly operations from concept through series production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement electrical engineering concepts and planning strategies for assembly equipment and production systems
• Design and specify electrical systems in alignment with mechanical requirements and operational needs
• Serve as the primary representative for all electrical matters related to assembly equipment, both internally and with external partners
• Create and manage detailed electrical specifications, including system interfaces and integration requirements
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project timelines
• Oversee electrical interfaces between equipment, shopfloor IT systems, and other connected technologies
• Review and approve electrical designs; resolve technical issues with vendors and contractors
• Support the full project lifecycle from concept development through installation, commissioning, and production launch
• Prepare cost estimates, conduct bid evaluations, and support vendor selection
• Drive continuous improvement through change management, process optimization, and technical enhancements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, IT, facilities, and EHS teams
• Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field
• 5 years of experience in automotive production environments
• 3 years of experience in assembly operations
• 3 years of experience in electrical systems and automation for production equipment
• Knowledge of Equipment Electric Planning Processes
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Basic technical knowledge in automation technology and/or production systems (e.g., industrial network structures, PLCs and control units, Siemens TIA Portal).
• Basic knowledge of production systems in the field of production (e.g., SCADA, Back-up and Recovery systems, MES).
• Experience with electrical design and specification for automotive assembly equipment, including conveyors, semi-automated, and fully automated stations, torque data management, etc.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations (e.g., NEMA, NFPA 79, NEC)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Experience with web-based tools and office applications
• Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
