Medical Assistant (Full-Time) — Spanish Preferred
We are seeking a professional, patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our clinical team full-time. The MA will perform patient-related tasks, greet and direct patients, maintain accurate records, answer and return calls, and act as a liaison between patients and medical staff. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, bilingual (Spanish preferred), and holds an MA/CMA certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, check them in/out, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure a welcoming environment
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit
- Assist providers during exams and procedures; prepare exam rooms and equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records (EHR) promptly
- Answer incoming calls, triage and route calls appropriately, and return missed calls in a timely manner
- Serve as liaison between patients and clinical staff to facilitate communication and follow-up
- Administer routine injections and perform basic clinical tasks per protocol (as certified)
- Support assigned providers as their designated MA; ensure continuity of care
- Encourage a positive, cooperative work environment among medical assistants and clinic staff
- Make sound decisions in urgent situations and escalate appropriately
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; MA/CMA certification preferred/required
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient with EHR systems and basic office equipment
- CPR certification preferred/required (specify if needed)
- Ability to work full-time hours; flexibility for schedule variations as needed
