Job Summary
We are seeking a Bilingual General Education Teacher (Spanish) for a contract teaching position in a K-8 educational setting.
The Bilingual Teacher will provide general education instruction and bilingual classroom support for elementary and K-8 students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the K-8 population, strong classroom management skills, Spanish-language proficiency, and the required DOE Instructional Certification and DOE Bilingual Endorsement.
This opportunity is well suited for an Elementary Teacher, Bilingual Teacher, Spanish Teacher, General Education Teacher, or K-8 Teacher with experience supporting students in a bilingual education environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging general education lessons for K-8 and elementary students.
- Provide bilingual instruction and academic support in English and Spanish as required.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with curriculum and instructional standards.
- Deliver effective classroom instruction appropriate for students' grade levels.
- Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Apply effective classroom management techniques.
- Monitor student learning, academic progress, and classroom performance.
- Adapt teaching strategies to address different student learning needs.
- Provide appropriate academic and instructional support.
- Maintain accurate student, classroom, and instructional records.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, teachers, and school staff.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional staff, and teacher aides.
- Support student engagement, participation, and academic development.
- Follow school policies, curriculum requirements, and applicable educational standards.
- Participate in required instructional and school activities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with the K-8 student population.
- Experience as a General Education Teacher, Elementary Teacher, Bilingual Teacher, Spanish Teacher, or K-8 Teacher.
- Valid DOE Instructional Certification applicable to the teaching assignment.
- Valid DOE Bilingual Endorsement applicable to Spanish/bilingual instruction.
- Spanish-language proficiency sufficient to provide classroom instruction.
- Strong classroom management and student support skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and classroom support staff.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday during the scheduled hours.
- Ability to complete the full 44-week contract assignment.
Certification Requirements
A qualifying DOE Bilingual Endorsement applicable to Spanish/bilingual instruction is required.
An ESL endorsement alone does not meet the bilingual endorsement requirement.
A Spanish-language endorsement alone does not meet the bilingual endorsement requirement.
Candidates should have the appropriate DOE credentials before applying.
Classroom Environment
The classroom includes an additional teacher who holds an ESL endorsement and a teacher aide.
The teacher will work as part of a collaborative instructional team supporting students within a K-8 educational environment.
Interview Process
Candidates should provide their interview availability when applying.
Interviews are conducted on site between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
The interview includes a demonstration lesson to evaluate teaching skills and Spanish-language proficiency.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their instructional approach and ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.
