Job Description: Lead Large Format Production Specialist
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Large Format Production Specialist to oversee our large format printing operations. This role requires expertise in operating and maintaining advanced printing and cutting equipment, as well as leadership skills to guide the production team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery of projects while maintaining a high standard of production workflow.
While installation experience is a plus, it is not required.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Workflow Management:
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Train and mentor production team members, sharing best practices and troubleshooting skills.
- Monitor workload distribution and optimize workflow for efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for production-related challenges and solutions.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate and oversee large format equipment, including:
- UV flatbed
- UV roll printer
- Latex roll printer
- CNC cutting systems
- Laminator
- Plotter
- Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of all equipment to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain smooth production.
Production & Quality Assurance:
- Prepare files for printing and verify accuracy across various machines.
- Assist with finishing tasks such as cutting, laminating, and mounting.
- Implement quality control checks to ensure consistency and high standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with the production team, designers, and management to improve processes and workflow.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement solutions.
- Assist in sourcing materials and coordinating with vendors when necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in large format printing and production.
- Strong knowledge of large format printing equipment and finishing techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize printing and cutting systems.
- Experience managing production schedules and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
- Familiarity with RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera) is preferred.
