What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Sir-Lines-A-Lot – Line Striping Company?
Sir Lines-A-Lot provides traffic control services and pavement markings on roads and parking lots throughout Minnesota. This position will be in person at our Edina office.
This position reports to the Project Accounting Lead and has 2 primary responsibilities. The first is to support our Estimators during the bidding season, set up new jobs that are won in the system, and complete the required documentation. The job is then ready for Operations to execute. The second primary responsibility occurs during the production season and is to process field logs, generate invoices, and complete all necessary follow-ups and documentation to ensure payment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review invoices, ensuring all charges are complete before sending them to the customer.
- Assist in the resolution of any discrepancies on invoices.
- Process contracts and other documents needed for the project.
- Process new jobs, including setup in software systems.
- Call customers to ensure invoices are received and payments are being processed.
- Request insurance certificates and P&P bonds.
- Work closely with Estimators, Operations, and other office staff to ensure all documents and information required for the successful bid and completion of a job are in place.
- Post daily production quantities for invoicing.
- Monitor email and respond to/resolve each item in a timely manner.
- Follow up with customers to ensure final payment.
- Other duties as assigned by management to support the business.
Requirements:
- 3 Years of experience preferred
- High School education or equivalent
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Regular attendance in the office required
- Previous position in a highway or construction office preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Bid 2 Win Experience Preferred
