Job Summary:

Sippican Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, a leading provider of healthcare services in Marion, MA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safety Sitter/Patient Observer to join our team. As a vital member of our care team, you will provide direct observation and support to our patients, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one continuous and direct observation and support to our residents ensuring their safety and well-being

• Monitor and report any changes in patient behavior, condition, or vital signs to nursing staff

• Assist patients with daily living activities

• Assist with non-clinical, ancillary tasks when not actively observing patients

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient observations and care activities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary care teams

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

• Previous experience working with the elderly population preferred but not required

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills

• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
