This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, answering queries, end user training where required, and offering advice to ensure the efficient operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This position will be located at the Waynesboro, MS, Facility.
Responsibilities
- Respond to user inquiries and provide technical assistance in person, over the phone, or via email.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications.
- Identify and troubleshoot system and network problems.
- Document issues and resolutions in the help desk tracking system.
- Escalate complex problems to appropriate IT staff or vendors as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to end-users on the use of IT resources and applications.
- Conduct user training sessions on new software or systems.
- Assist in setting up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Assist in setting up network equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on computer systems.
- Monitor, manage and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Coordinate with IT team members on system updates and upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of support requests, actions taken, and resolutions.
- Develop and update user manuals and IT documentation.
- Keep track of IT equipment inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure proper asset tagging and documentation of IT equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to all end-users.
- Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years experience in a mid-sized organization as an IT Help Desk Technician and/or similar roles
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and O365
- Experience working with network equipment
- Professional certification, such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP (preferred)
- Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols
- Computer proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware
- Ability to problem solve and think critically
- Attention to detail
- Project management skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar certifications are a plus.
