Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and care, ensuring each drink meets quality standards.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner, providing excellent customer service and answering questions about menu items.
- Operate Clover POS systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, beverage preparation stations, and seating areas, adhering to food safety standards.
- Running side work includes taking out trash, sweeping the floor, wiping down tables, busing dishes, stacking chairs and tables, cleaning the restrooms and washing floors.
- Must be able to lift 35lb
- Handle cash transactions confidently, process payments accurately, and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
- Restock supplies as needed, including coffee beans, cups, lids, napkins, and other essentials to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow food safety guidelines during food preparation and beverage service to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Requirements
- Previous barista or café experience is highly preferred; familiarity with beverage service and food industry standards is a plus.
- Experience using POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, processing transactions, and giving accurate change.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods efficiently.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while preparing drinks and assisting customers.
