Financial Counselor

1 – Full-Time position

The schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm, Thursday 8:00am-noon, and Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Successful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of:

• Two years of Medical office and/or insurance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of our willingness to learn the State Family Planning Program, Medicaid, and Marketplace insurance.  
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.  
• Advanced computer and data entry skills.
• Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
• Previous experience in marketing/community outreach.
• Strong communication skills.

Successful candidate must be able to perform primary functions of position:

• Provide enrollment assistance for uninsured adolescents and adult patients/residents of the service area to access subsidized, low cost, and free health insurance programs through the health insurance marketplace, State Family Planning Program and Medicaid.
• Provide structured patient education on health insurance coverage, engage in follow up conversations, and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals.
• Assist in the development and implementation of organizational outreach and enrollment initiatives.
• Distribute outreach materials to patients/residents of the service area, community members, and partner organizations and businesses to build health coverage option awareness.
• Attend community events to promote health coverage options and the outreach enrollment services available from SCHC.
• These functions are not all inclusive
