Physical Requirements
This position requires constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and fingers, sitting, walking, talking, and keyboarding. The position requires frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, speaking, turning, grasping and carrying.
Other Requirements
Fundamentals of Coaching or Equivalent (must be completed one time); Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (must be renewed once every two years); Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know (must be renewed on an annual basis.

Essential Functions & Duties
- Meets with students outside the regular school day to practice extemporaneous speaking, original oratory, student congress, and debate, to discuss strategy, to guide research and to prepare for contests.
- Encourages student participation in the activities program.
- Enforces participation rules of SDHSAA, Field Trip and Student Travel Guidelines of the Sioux Falls School District, school policies and debate team policies.
- Assists with invitational contests hosted at district schools.
- Maintains safe environment at practices, contests, and student travel.
- Judges occasional extra-curricular contests.
- Cooperates with media, parents and interested spectators.
- Meets with and communicates to Fine Arts Coordinator on all items of travel, budget, standards, calendar, and schedules.
