Role Description The Assistant Property Manager is a part-time, on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. This position supports the daily operations of residential properties, including assisting with leasing activities, processing applications, preparing lease documents, and coordinating move-ins and move-outs. The role includes responding to resident inquiries, addressing routine concerns, and helping ensure a high standard of customer service and resident satisfaction. The Assistant Property Manager helps monitor property conditions, coordinates with maintenance staff for work orders, and assists with inspections and compliance-related documentation. The role also supports rent collection, basic bookkeeping tasks, record keeping, and reporting requirements in alignment with organizational policies and housing program regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in property management or residential housing operations, including leasing support, resident relations, and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, such as document management, data entry, scheduling, and attention to detail in record keeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents, colleagues, vendors, and community partners.
- Basic financial and computer skills, including working with property management software, spreadsheets, word processing tools, and handling rent payments or billing processes.
- Knowledge of or interest in affordable housing programs, fair housing regulations, and compliance requirements (training can be provided).
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or relevant certifications in property management or housing services are beneficial.
