Sioux Falls Christian School seeks a dedicated, skilled Maintenance

support the school’s physical campus through general repairs, preventative
maintenance, and collaboration with local contractors and vendors. The

Key Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repair duties throughout the
campus, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and basic
groundskeeping.
Troubleshoot and respond to maintenance requests from staff in a
timely and professional manner.
Partner with and oversee local vendors and contractors for
specialized services (electrical, plumbing, roofing, etc.) to ensure
quality and timely completion of work.
Conduct regular inspections of the school building(s), systems, and
grounds to identify potential issues and ensure safe and efficient
operations.
Maintain maintenance logs and records of repairs, inspections, and
vendor interactions.
Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal maintenance
projects.
Work collaboratively with administration and custodial staff to ensure
a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for students, staff,
and visitors.
Support the school’s mission by modeling Christian values in all
interactions with students, staff, and external partners.
Qualifications
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the
mission and values of Sioux Falls Christian School.
Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or
a related trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical
documents.
Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to
maintenance needs.
Comfortable coordinating and communicating with local businesses
and contractors.
Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and vendor
communications.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform
manual labor as needed.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Formal training or certification in one or more maintenance trades.
Experience working in a school, church, or ministry setting.
Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
Work Environment
Regularly exposed to typical school environments including
classrooms, outdoor spaces, mechanical rooms, and roofs.
Must be able to respond to urgent maintenance needs during school
hours or after-hours as needed.
