What are the responsibilities and job description for the DAEP Classroom Aide position at Sinton?
Primary Purpose:
Supervise students assigned to the Discipline Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for disciplinary
reasons. Maintain a highly structured and orderly environment. Work under the general supervision of the principal and/or immediate direction of a certified teacher on a daily basis.
Education/Certification:
Associate's degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Eligible for Texas Educational Aide III Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
Some experience working with children
