National Peening is currently seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our Team in Salem, VA.
What You Will Do:
General
- Complete Shipping & Receiving Clerk duties such as receiving incoming materials and matching to purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation (BOLs, packing slips).
- Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers; track deliveries and resolve shipping issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipping/receiving records.
- Cooperate and work closely with shop employees and Production Supervisor to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
- Keep shipping and receiving areas organized and in compliance with safety standards.
- Perform general office tasks as required.
What We Want From You
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical training is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is preferred.
- Experience with peening, washing, or burning processes is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, shipping software, etc.)
