Sinto America Surface Technologies provides precision shot peening, blasting and cleaning services through its National Peening and Technical Metal Finishing divisions.
National Peening is currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Team in Wallingford, CT.
What You Will Do:
MR 1. Inspect, Clean, Package and Document Supplied Hardware to TMF instructions and Customers requirements,
PS # 1 Perform incoming inspections, issuing receiving paperwork and performing customer purchase order contract review
PS # 2 Perform receiving inspections with required training to customer visual and dimensional inspection requirements.
PS # 3 Create job/part certifications within E2 system.
PS # 4 Review and inspect co-workers final customer certifications and packing slips.
PS #5 Capable of issuing customer awareness documents and quality department non-conformance reports.
PS # 6 Understand customer operation sheets and verify peen required, peen optional and peen not allowable areas per customer technical data.
PS # 7 Perform Almen strip inspection for coverage.
PS # 8 Read, understand and perform work to written procedures; POP’s or equivalent.
PS # 9 Generate shipping paperwork using commercial carriers such as FedEx and UPS.
PS # 10 Perform sieve test analysis to standards.
PS #11 Utilize (Profilometer) surface analyzer and measure part surface finish to POP requirements.
PS # 12 Correctly complete and sign all E2 router steps related to work performed.
PS # 13 On self-release of customer products as approved by Quality Manager.
PS # 14 Complete and review all calibration paperwork working with and directing outside calibration sources.
PS # 15 Perform annual saturation curve verification; specific to GE Aviation.
PS # 16 Knowledge of 95% or better of customer specifications as they apply to in-plant quality control and product release.
PS # 17 Track and maintain calibration schedules and deadlines. This requires notifying the cognizant TMF person responsible of their need to perform the required calibrations.
PS # 18 Track and maintain calibration tooling and equipment; go, no-go gages, calipers, etc.
PS # 19 Responsible for maintaining the daily TMF shipment log.
MR 2. Compliance to Company Procedures and Policies
PS # 1 Keep work area floors, work table and machine free of debris and clutter. Sweep and pick up all shot peen and vibratory milling media from the floor adjacent to the equipment being operated.
PS # 2 Maintain shadow boards station at each process operation.
PS # 3 Empty trash containers as needed; especially at the conclusion of your work shift.
PS # 4 Show ability to work independently, read POP instructions and follow directions.
PS # 5 Have a positive attitude at all times, show ability to work well with others.
PS # 5 Maintain excellent attendance
PS # 6 Follow EH&S guidelines for safety shoes, eye and hearing protection, etc.
PS # 7 Maintain willingness to work a flexible schedule and overtime as required.
PS # 8 Understand basic principles of TMF’s quality system, especially related to documenting non-conforming materials.
PS # 9 Understand the basic principles of shot peening and vibratory milling.
PS # 10 Record/Punch time, work hours accurately.
PS # 11 Correctly complete and sign all E2 router steps related to work performed.
What We Want From You
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical training is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in quality control in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is preferred.
- Experience with peening, washing, or burning processes is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, shipping software, etc.)
