Sinto America Surface Technologies provides precision shot peening, blasting and cleaning services through its National Peening and Technical Metal Finishing divisions.
National Peening is currently seeking a CNC Shot Peening Machine Programmer and Machinist to join our Team in Wilmington, NC.
What You Will Do
General
- Read, understand, and perform work to written procedures
- Check for tooling adequacy then verify setup on jobs you have been qualified to process
- Many parts require precise masking/taping to protect areas directly adjacent to those requiring peening.
- After unloading each completed part, inspect for peen coverage and part quality. To perform this instruction must be able to understand customer operation sheet/drawings.
- Use surface analyzer and measure part surface finish to POP requirements.
- Inspect part and record defects and non-conformances.
- Keep work area floors, worktable and machine free of debris and clutter. Sweep and pick up all shot peen from the floor adjacent to the equipment.
What We Want From You
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining is required.
- Proven experience as a CNC operator, specifically in shot peening or surface treatment processes is a plus.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine setup procedures. 3-5 years experience programming preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and inspection techniques.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Understand basic principles of National Peening’s quality system, especially related to documenting non-conforming materials
- Maintain willingness to work a flexible schedule and overtime as required.
- Have a positive attitude at all times, show ability to work well with others.
- Maintain excellent attendance
- Familiarity with ISO-9001, and/or Nadcap quality system is preferred.
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and provide documentation compliant with ITAR regulations.
