Senior Staff Accountant

To be successful in this role, you should have solid organizational skills and experience with AR, AP, journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger, month end close, etc. This candidate should be able to use critical thinking to conceptualize solutions to accounting issues based on prior accounting knowledge and experience. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, work well as part of a team, be a self-starter, and have a passion for their work.Duties and Responsibilities:Verify Accounts Payable invoices, code, enter, assign job cost, and prepare paymentsReconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts with balance analysisAccounts Receivable data entry, job cost, and reconciliationPrepare Financial Statements and review them for accuracyReconcile, code and pay credit card reimbursementsManage Fixed Asset schedule; Post depreciation using IRS and GAAP methodsPrepare and post General Ledger entries; prepare amortization schedules to allocate liability paymentsCalculate and post accrued liabilities and expense current costProcess multi-state payroll to include job costing and preparation and import of IIF fileResponsibilities include adherence to the monthly and quarterly close process and timelineThis position will require a strong business partnership, collaboration, and process improvement skills while interacting with the teams in manufacturing, operations and site personnelAnswer employees’ questions and provide requested informationResponsible for providing and verifying product costs in support of all cost-based pricing contractsWork with Accounting Management to drive the development of procedures and controls that ensure meaningful and reliable product costs and accurate inventoriesRecommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profitIdentify potential issues and coordinate issue resolution/problem solving with other functional teamsPrepare for and participate in internal and external reviews and auditsPrepare and analyze department expense variances (actual to budgets/forecasts), monthly revenues & associated gross margin analysisPartner with operations team to review non-standard variances and gross margin analysisBudget/Forecast Planning Participates in the annual budgeting process, including preparation of standard costsUphold SQF requirements including promotion of a strong & positive food safety cultureActive involvement in implementation, upkeep and continuous improvement of food safety as part of an interdisciplinary teamStewardship for our B-corp mission to promote worldwide health and wellness by fostering the delivery of high quality, healthy foods through sustainable methods.Qualifications: Ability to effectively use computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and HR softwareComprehensive understanding of general and cost accounting principlesExperience with working within ERP on both finance and cost/operations modulesAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of sometimes stressful situationsComputer hardware and software, including: Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word); cost tracking software, internet use and innovationAbility to learn other software, if required, with company-provided trainingBachelor’s Degree in Accounting5 years cost accounting experience Strong communication skills, ability to present financial information in a meaningful understandable wayGood team building skills including trust, professionalism, and be able to garner consensus across diverse groupsSelf-motivated and ability to work independently and collaboratively and strong organizational skills are essentialDetail oriented, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in a time-sensitive and high-volume environmentIndependent thinker Physical Requirements:Ability to work on the floor in a manufacturing setting; frequent walking and standing required.May occasionally work in hot, cold, or wet environments based on Plant inventory/auditing requirements.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusThis position is required to work in officeAbility to be unfazed by ambiguity and comfortable in environments with shifting priorities

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
