Afterschool Assistant Teacher

Location: Duluth, GA (on-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30–6:30 pm
Hours: 20–25 hours per week
Compensation: $15/hour (contract position)

About SPARC
The Single Parent Alliance & Resource Center (SPARC) supports single-parent families through housing stability, economic empowerment, and family strengthening. Our SPARC Kids Academy is an afterschool enrichment program designed to provide safe, structured, and supportive learning opportunities for children where they live.

Position Summary
The Contract Afterschool Assistant Program Coach will deliver daily programming for SPARC Kids Academy at Bridgewater. This independent contractor role includes tutoring, homework support, enrichment activities, and mentoring to ensure children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities

Support afterschool programming in a safe, structured environment.

Provide academic support, including homework help and literacy development.

Help facilitate SPARC enrichment activities (STEM, arts, wellness, etc.).

Build positive relationships with children, families, and volunteers.

Collaborate with community partners, volunteers, and interns.

Track attendance, participation, and progress for reporting.

Assist with family engagement activities and special events.

Model SPARC’s values of dignity, encouragement, and inclusion.

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children in afterschool, classroom, or youth development settings.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to create a positive and encouraging learning environment.

Dependable, flexible, and proactive.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Must be eligible to work as an independent contractor.
