Position Overview
The IT Specialist Manager responsibility is to supervise the IT Specialists, also the scheduling, delegating tasks, managing resources, maintaining project timelines, monitoring Information Systems’ requests for the group, and providing performance feedback to manager and supervision of all production functions, employees assigned to the IT Specialist section of the Information Systems Department in accordance with the overall goals and objectives of the department and Singing River Health System. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of interfaces between HIS to outside clinical Databases belonging to third party vendors. The IT Specialist Manager will act as liaison between SRHS user departments and third-party vendors during implementation. The IT Specialist Manager will assume the operational duties for the department which include ordering supplies, relay of information to department, purchase requisitions, employee requisitions, evaluations, capitals, board packets, mail distribution and the taking of minutes when needed. The IT Specialist Manager identifies current and future technologies that will benefit Singing River Health System. The IT Specialist Manager ensures customer service issues are addressed, assists the Technical Services Manager as needed, and monitors and maintains customer service and satisfaction, promotes standardized procedures and policies, researches and resolves complex technical issues, reviews and responds to security issues, identifies and promotes security standards, and assists in developing procedures and processes.

Education
Associate Degree in Computer Science or Data Processing or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and formal management training.

Current certification at (or obtained within 90 days of) job start in one or more IT certifications (i.e., CompTia A ) preferred.
Experience
A minimum of three (5) years IT experience required; healthcare IT experience preferred, with one (1) year of supervisory experience in IT preferred.

Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard copier and 10- key.
Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision. Must be able to work for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Mental Demands
Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision-making abilities. Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels. Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required. Must have strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
