Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a courteous and professional manner
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, including stocking shelves and merchandising products as needed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions or product demos to enhance sales opportunities
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering assistance, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Follow proper phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers over the phone
Requirements
- Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with customers
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse clientele effectively
- Basic math skills for quick calculations and transaction accuracy
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
