Manufacturing Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Understand project scope, customer requirements, and manufacturing processes to support successful project execution.
- Design, develop, and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automated systems using 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Create, maintain, and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects and production builds.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation to support fabrication, assembly, and production.
- Ensure all engineering designs, drawings, and documentation comply with internal standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials, components, and equipment for production schedules.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles to improve workplace organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Read, interpret, and revise mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process drawings and schematics.
- Support manufacturing and assembly operations, including troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Lead process improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, budgets, and production requirements.
- Analyze manufacturing issues and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of secondary manufacturing processes and production support activities.
- Communicate project status, technical information, and production updates effectively with engineering, operations, and management teams.
- Ensure safe operation of manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and power tools while adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts through data analysis, process optimization, and implementation of best manufacturing practices.
- Participate in design reviews and provide manufacturing input to improve product quality, manufacturability, and assembly efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, assembly techniques, and quality systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
