SINGH is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Milwaukee Transportation Team. This position will provide the opportunity to work on engaging transportation infrastructure projects. This is an entry-level position, although 1-4 years of experience is a plus. Experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is preferred. Experience in plan preparation and construction administration is a plus. Prior experience with any State, Federal, or Local agency projects is desired. This position will require a technical background in at least one of the following areas: highway design, traffic engineering, roadway drainage & hydrology, and structural bridge engineering. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and the Highway Capacity Manual is highly recommended.
Tasks
- Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design
- Develop final design plans, including highway geometrics, cross sections, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, drainage, pavement marking, and signing plans
- Assist in specifications, cost estimates, and the preparation of final PS&E packages
- Assist in design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and the client
- Construction administration of various projects to verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Performing other tasks deemed necessary by the project manager from time to time.
- Achieve client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget
Qualifications Skills
- BSCE Degree (or higher) from an ABET-accredited institution with emphasis in roadway design
- EIT Certification is a plus
- Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design Software (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is required
- Excellent technical communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn and invest in professional development
