About the Role
Our firm is seeking a candidate to join our growing Asset Management team to support SRE’s diverse hospitality portfolio comprised of more than twenty assets including full-service, select-service and extended stay product. The candidate will assess the current and projected performance of properties while furthering all areas of business plans, including incorporating feedback from third-parties and working within SRE’s internal asset management structure to continually analyze each asset. Preferred location for the role is SRE’s Chicago office (relocation assistance provided) although remote options may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain asset-level financial models, including providing quarterly valuation updates, regularly updating internal cash flow forecasts and preparing ancillary asset-specific analysis, as needed
- Collaborate with operating partners and property teams to assist with executing all areas of business plans
- Review property-level performance including monthly financials (P&Ls and cash flow statements), forecasts and STAR reports and maintain working knowledge of local market dynamics
- Create presentations and memos for investors and senior management
- Coordinate with internal teams and partners to respond to ad hoc requests from third parties, including lenders, property managers and brokers
- Assist with the oversight of renovations and capital projects, including cost tracking and submission of loan draws
- Identify, assess and implement strategic initiatives across portfolio
- Facilitate and oversee coordination of dispositions and refinancings
- Assist with underwriting new acquisitions opportunities
- Frequent travel to visit hospitality assets and meet with management teams and partners
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in hospitality acquisitions or asset management preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, hospitality, finance or business
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with full proficiency in MS Excel
- Clear communicator (oral and written) with the ability to interact and collaborate with property teams, operating partners and senior management
- Self-starter with the ability to successfully meet deadlines and balance multiple projects in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
- Capable thinker with robust attention to detail
