Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provide individual counseling sessions employing modalities
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma-related distress
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices like motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology coordination, and behavior management
- Document all patient interactions meticulously within HIPAA-compliant medical records while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to medical documentation standards
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection efforts to improve treatment outcomes and contribute to ongoing mental health studies
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for clinical practice
- Proven experience in mental health counseling across outpatient, inpatient, or clinic settings with diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), CPT coding for billing purposes, and ICD coding systems for diagnosis documentation
- Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering remote counseling sessions effectively
- Familiarity with crisis management protocols and skills in handling emergency situations involving PTSD care or grief counseling
- Ability to work with individuals facing gender issues counseling or chronic pain management while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and empathy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform patient care assessments accurately and manage complex cases involving addiction counseling or special education needs
