SUMMARY: SINBON Ohio is a leading provider of integrated design and production services for electronic components, supporting industries such as data acquisition, computer peripherals, and advanced electronic products. As part of our commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence, we are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and detail-oriented Janitor to join our Facilities Maintenance team.
In this vital role, the Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment throughout our manufacturing and office facility. This position supports employee health, productivity, and professionalism through consistent daily cleaning during business hours and thorough deep cleaning at the end of the workday. The Janitor plays a critical role in upholding hygiene, safety standards, and 5S workplace organization practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Cleaning Responsibilities:
· Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, front lobby, conference rooms, and shared office spaces.
· Disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, railings, and shared equipment.
· Refill supplies in restrooms and kitchen areas (soap, paper towels, sanitizer, toilet tissue).
· Empty and replace trash and recycling bins in office, production, and public areas.
· Clean interior windows and glass doors as needed to remove fingerprints and smudges.
· Sweep or vacuum entryways and high-traffic walkways as needed.
· Spot clean spills and respond to real-time cleaning needs in shared spaces.
· Maintain discretion and avoid disruption to employees and operations.
End-of-Day Deep Cleaning:
· Deep clean all restrooms: toilets, sinks, mirrors, walls, and floors.
· Sweep and mop all hard surface floors in production, hallways, and break rooms.
· Vacuum carpeted office areas and conference rooms.
· Clean kitchen and break area appliances, sinks, countertops, and tables.
· Collect and remove all building trash and recyclables to designated disposal areas.
· Conduct final inspection of cleanliness in key areas to ensure readiness for the next workday.
· Report any maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures) to the Facilities Manager.
Monthly / Quarterly Duties:
· Perform deep cleaning of offices, conference rooms, and production/assembly areas.
· Strip and wax ESD (electrostatic discharge) flooring using ESD-safe wax (four times per year).
· Support department-led cleaning initiatives aligned with 5S workplace organization standards.
· Complete other cleaning tasks as assigned by the Facilities/Maintenance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must pass a background check and drug screening.
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· 1–2 years of janitorial or facilities cleaning experience preferred.
· Experience cleaning in a manufacturing or technical environment is a plus.
COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES:
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
· Ability to work independently and follow a consistent cleaning schedule.
· Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
· Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment.
· Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn safe chemical handling procedures.
· Good physical stamina and ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
· Manual dexterity to operate cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively.
SUPERVISORY RESPOSIBILITIES:
· None
WORK ENVIRONMENT:This role operates in an electronics manufacturing and office environment. The position involves exposure to cleaning chemicals, waste disposal, and minor noise levels. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in certain areas.
