Job Summary :
Provision of treatments, therapies including medication, to patients of all ages in accordance with physician written orders and in accordance with the organization and department policies and procedures. Has knowledge and training to apply special equipment and techniques in a manner that provides positive patient outcome. Has knowledge and training to assess patients for respiratory care needs and support, and ability to assess treatment or therapy outcome.
Produces two dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures for use by Physician in diagnosis of heart disease and study of heart by performing the following duties. Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient.
Properly, skillfully, and safely operates all equipment including but not limited to oxygen delivery, nebulizer therapy, Ventilator care, BIPAP use, percussive techniques, and sputum induction; appropriate to the assessment of the patient including age and condition.Provision of medications to patients of all ages in accordance with the physician written order. Demonstrates knowledge of the various medications used in treatment or therapies, their indications and contraindications and proper dosage. Has the ability to assess patient outcomes including recognition of adverse reaction to medications.Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to recognize and/or suggest alternative treatment or therapy modalities to physicians based upon assessment of the patient. the assessment of the patient including age and condition.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program or four years of clinical work experience as an echo cardiographer.
- Must be eligible to sit for the ARDMS or CCI examinations.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Must have four years of clinical work experience as an echo cardiographer if not a graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must obtain one of the following certifications within 2 years:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
