About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive Plant Safety Coordinator to join our manufacturing team and champion a safety-first culture. In this role, you will partner with management, supervisors, and employees to ensure our plant is a safe, compliant, and engaging workplace. You will lead safety initiatives, conduct training, and help employees work confidently and safely every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and daily plant walk-throughs to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses; recommend corrective actions.
- Lead and document monthly safety trainings (topics: fire prevention, hazardous materials, lockout/tagout, etc.).
- Maintain incident records and update the Injury and Safety Management Program.
- Monitor and improve PPE policy compliance across the workforce.
- Oversee PPE, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment to ensure availability and readiness.
- Manage forklift certifications, company vehicle use, and Employer Pull Notice (EPN) program compliance.
- Support workers’ compensation cases with accurate documentation.
- Lead the Safety Committee and foster employee engagement in safety programs.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of workplace safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Conduct safety training in both English and Spanish to ensure compliance and effective communication with all employees.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and ability to interpret safety standards.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification or higher preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Instructor certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with computers and safety-related documentation systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk the plant floor daily and perform safety inspections in a manufacturing environment.
- Work in an office adjacent to the plant with frequent exposure to manufacturing noise and minimal dust.
