This individual will provide software engineering in an Agile development environment as part of a team creating prototype robotic systems to support live training exercises.CLEARANCEAn ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.RESPONSIBILITIES:Writing, troubleshooting, and supporting Python software, usually written for ROS2 (Robot Operating System)Design and build advanced applications for the Android platformServe as an Agile Scrum team member providing software development and maintenance for the delivery of releasable softwareGain understanding and knowledge of various robotic systemsActively support all aspects of the system development lifecycle (analysis, requirements definition, design, coding, development and unit testing, maintenance and preparing associated documentation) with an emphasis on software developmentREQUIREMENTS:United States CitizenshipAt least four (4) years of Python software development experienceIn-depth understanding of Android software and application developmentAbility to clearly and accurately document software source code, specifications, and manualsModeling and/or simulations, interface coding, TCP/IP, and serial communicationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate constructively and present overall results with other government and contractor personnelAbility to thrive in a flexible and dynamic work environmentPREFERRED SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIESExperience with writing, testing, maintaining, and supporting live mobile applications for the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) systemsExperience with ROS2C development experience for performance critical codeExperience with developing software for UbuntuWillingness to travel to support test events in the fieldComfortable working on a team and interfacing with outside entitiesWillingness to adapt quickly to new requirementsAgile/SCRUM experienceKnowledge of Git and GitLabExperience with Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and/or Software-in-the-loop (SWIL) testingTRAVEL: 10-15�UCATION: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required.Company DescriptionAt SimVentions, we’re committed to supporting the total well-being of our employees and their families.
