Staff Accountant

Purpose of the Role

Supporting the corporate accounting team within the Finance Department by performing daily accounting tasks, recording transactions, reconciling accounts and maintaining the general ledger while utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. This role will also provide assistance with month-end close and work closely with other accounting team members to maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Perform month-end/year-end close procedures.
• Post deposits daily and manage remote deposits
• Treasury related functions such as running daily cash reports, downloading EFT confirmations and posting ACH’s.
• Download Concur reports on a regular basis, verifying GL coding
• Review all new vendor and customer data entered into Navision.
• Assist in preparation of 1099’s
• Assist with year-end audit
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Perform ad-hoc projects assigned by immediate supervisor or other finance team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Month-end close tasks completed within four business days of period end
• Month-end account reconciliations completed by the 15th of each month
• Deposits posted within two business days

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 1-2 years of accounting related experience
• Experience with large ERP software- Microsoft Dynamics Navision a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
