Forklift Operator/Yard Jockey

• Qualified candidate must have past Yard Jockey Experience.
• Qualified candidate must have past Forklift Operation Experience.
• The hourly pay rate is between $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.
• A typical work schedule is from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Mon-Fri, plus 7:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturdays.

Job Summary:

Operates forklift to prepare for transport of scrap materials. Other duties include moving trucks and containers as a yard jockey in the facility. On the downtime, performs general cleaning and maintenace of the heavy equipment, machinery and facility. Shift currently operates between the hours of 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Mon-Fri, plus 7:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturdays.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - 2 years or more of experience operating forklifts

- 2 years or more of experience as a Yard Jockey

- Must pass pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen.

- Must be able to wear a respirator comfortably.

- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, correspondence, & memos.

- Ability to speak and understand English.

- Follows all business health, safety, and environmental standards.

- Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors

- High school diploma or GED.

This position requires outdoor work, which includes inclement weather.

This position requires passing a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.
